Of A Personal Nature

Ellen RM Toner

Today I’m taking a break from my regular platforms of language and literature to share with you all the physical and, more important, the spiritual side of an unusual struggle that my husband and I have faced since we were married back in December of 2015.

I first wrote openly about this issue in October of last year. That post is here. And more recently, after some unexpected developments over the past couple months, I’ve been working my way to a follow-up on the initial post. That follow-up is here.

This issue is a private one, but, after much reflection and prayer, we decided to share it openly, as we believe it would greatly benefit many people for there to be a more open discussion about such problems. To that end, if you feel comfortable with it, we ask you to share it with your friends, families and communities in order to help us raise awareness, and, God-willing, to help other couples who are going through or recovering from the same thing.

Thank you so much!
