Mission Accomplished

Bernardo Aparicio García

As many readers are aware, we had issued several alerts during the past weeks about needing to cover a funding gap for Dappled Things in order to continue pursuing our mission during the coming year. I am delighted to report that Dappled Things is now fully funded! We just processed the last group of subscriptions that came in, and thanks to a mixture of both large and small gifts, we were able to reach a total of $12,534.04. While we did not quite meet the $15,000 goal we had set for this year, we did slightly break last year’s record. We had hoped the larger amount would allow us to pursue some more ambitious initiatives to expand our reader base and further our mission in some innovative ways, but the amount we raised is certainly sufficient to do some wonderful work this year. We will do our best to live up to the trust you have placed in us through your contributions. Among other things, you should look forward to a more active blog, an enhanced non-fiction section, and a greater DT presence in conferences and other events around the country.

From all the DT staff: Thank you!
